KiteLock™ 4% – An Antimicrobial, Anticoagulant, and Antibiofilm Catheter Lock Solution
Clinically proven. Easy to implement. Safe for repeated use.
KiteLock™ 4% (Tetrasodium EDTA) is a non-antibiotic, antimicrobial catheter locking solution used to fill and secure central venous catheters when they are not in use.
It helps prevent infection, maintain catheter patency, and reduce the risk of clotting and biofilm buildup — without promoting antibiotic resistance.
How It Works…
When a central line isn’t in use, KiteLock™ 4% is instilled into the catheter lumen. It sits inside the central venous catheter between uses, actively:
- 01 Killing harmful microbes that can cause bloodstream infections
- 02 Preventing clots and occlusions that block the catheter
- 03 Breaking down and eradicating biofilm to stop recurring infections
KiteLock™ 4% is One Simple, Safe, Effective Solution for use in all central venous catheters.
Three connected biological processes.
The supplied product material explains how tetrasodium EDTA binds with calcium to interrupt processes associated with catheter dysfunction, morbidity, and mortality in patients with central venous catheters.
One formulation.
Multiple actions.
Product literature describes a four-part action profile supporting the management of catheter-related risks.
Antimicrobial action
Antibiofilm action
Anticoagulant action
Biofilm disruption
